Our new herd sire, Sierra Gold arrived. He is initially put in quarantine for 2 weeks. He has now been introduced into the boy's herd, and after a few tussles has established himself as the dominant male. His weight on arrival was 215 lbs.

Just returned from the TXOLAN show in Fort Worth. Took Sierra and Mocha for their first show. It was Nancy's first attempt to show an animal and Sierra came in 4th. Nancy is very pleased.

March 12, 2008

Nancy flew to Syracuse, NY to look at, and to purchase the entire herd from Apple Ridge Alpacas. We now need to arrange for having them transported to us. Two of the females are pregnant and due during our 'HOT' months, so we will need to wait a bit before moving them. Pictured are the herdsire Gibson and young Knickers.

A young female goat "Pickles" was born to Emma today.

Shearing day for the alpacas. We took 8 of ours to Copper Hill Ranch in Covington. They came back a lot skinnier.

Summer gave birth this evening to a little male goat. We have named him Rio.

Melody gave birth to twins this morning. Both are little boys. We have named them Presto and Prelude (musical terms because of their mother's name. Prelude was not doing well and we took him to the vet. While there he died.

Four alpacas arrived from New York and are getting settled in.

Twilight Sundancer was born to Maizie. She is a beautifule light fawn cria.

Colleen gave birth today to a boy cria. We have named him 'Where's Waldo.

It has been very hot this summer. We learned of a lady who had two female alpacas and could not shear them. We have purchased them and will shear them as soon as a tool arrives. These are registered in Canada, so we need to go through the process of changing their registration.

Molly who is being boarded in NY just gave birth to a little boy. We have named him 'August Domino'.

We had almost 70 people visit the farm

Saffron, who is also being boarded in NY just gave birth to a little girl. We have named her Sienna. The rest of the herd in NY will be shipped to us at the end of Oct.
