Our Herd

We have been selling off our herd recently and are now down to 3 wethers left. We need the space for our expanding Alpaca herd.

Males

Magnet Magnet came to us as an older gelded, dehorned male from a petting zoo that was closing. As a result he loves people and the attention they give. He was named by our grandson Corban.
Curley Tailer Curley came as a young weanling from the same petting zoo as Magnet. Though he was supposed to be gelded we soon found out that he isn't. He is now 5 years old and loves to spend his time breaking through fences! He also loves people from his earlier experience. His name also came from our grandson Corban. He has become our herdsire and has a magnificent set of horns.
Togo Born on March 7, 2006. He and his brother are very playful and have lots of fun together. We named the two newborn goats after some countries in Africa we had visited. Togo is in West Africa, between Ghana and Benin.
Burkina Born on March 8, 2006. He was named after the country Burkina Faso (originally Upper Volta) that Nancy visited in 2002.

Females

Marguerite Deceased Marguerite is an older female beyond bearing age. We received her free from the same farm that sold us the other two females because she was so close to them. We don't know her age, but she appears to be healthy and enjoys being here She surprised us in May 2007 by giving birth to a boy kid. She started having difficulty eating in early October and died on the morning of Oct 31, 2007.
Emma Sold Emma is of undetermined age. We got her from a farm in Austin. She gave birth to a little boy kid in March, 2006 , twins in April 2007, and a little girl in March 2008.
Melody Sold Melody is from the same farm in Austin. Her age is not known. She also gave birth to a little boy kid in March 2006, twins in April 2007, March 2008, and again in March 2009.
Luna Sold Born Feb, 2002, Luna came to us on July 18, 2006 from the Fairy Tale farm in Waxahachie. She is registered with TAGRA (#658467).
Summer Deceased Born Feb, 2002, Summer came to us on July 18, 2006 from the Fairy Tale farm in Waxahachie. She is registered with TAGRA (#658468). On the morning of Nov 17, 2009 we found Summer lying on the ground thrashing. Made a quick trip to the vet but he was unable to save her. He has no idea yet what happened. We were very sorry to lose her; she was pregnant and was our best producer.
